1+1 = Infinity: A Collaborative Batik Digital Art
1+1 = Infinity is a community art project that invites all Singapore residents from all walks of life to reflect what Singapore means to them.
This project aims to explore motifs and patterns that reflect our Singaporean identity through the medium of batik. Upon successful registration, we will send you a batik DIY kit and you will create a small batik artwork that represents your Singapore. You will then upload your artwork. Other than exhibiting them online, we will gather, analyse and collate them into a collective artwork!
1+1 = Infinity is a collaborative art project that is open to anyone and everyone!

Wax Your Merlion: Discovering Singapore’s Identity through Batik
Throughout interactions with the community of batik enthusiasts, the concept of identity (of the artists, the wearers and the creators) always leads to a question: is there a Singaporean Batik?
Watch the recording from our opening panel discussion event with Oniatta Effendi (Baju by Oniatta) and Raymond Wong (Rumah Kim Choo) as they tell us what Batik means to them and their communities as well as discuss how the idea of identity is perceived and celebrated through Batik in a Singaporean context.
